Exposing the FRCP and E-discovery: Separating Fact from Fiction

Date & Time:  Wednesday, August 8, 2007 - 2:45 PM

Storage and IT managers are quickly becoming experts in e-discovery, left with no choice as recent amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures (FRCP) require that parties locate information that is reasonably accessible and germane to a court case. In the majority of cases, information that resides online on desktops, laptops, servers, and networked storage systems will be considered "reasonably accessible". This requirement, coupled with explosive data growth, requires that organizations look at new ways to solve this problem. However, there are still several realities of e-discovery that have not been addressed yet. In this presentation we will separate fact from fiction in e-discovery and talk about how the FRCP will further shape the legal and compliance landscape.

Learning Objectives:

  • Facts and stats on e-discovery and its time-consuming effects on organizations
  • Explanation on FRCP and implications for future-like laws
  • The different variety of technologies and solutions available that address e-discovery and which are best for particular organizations
  • Learn how the right e-Discovery solution can help automate the process of identifying, culling, and preserving relevant documents residing within their organization to dramatically cut costs
