Managing and Preserving E-mail through Collaborative, Integrated Information Risk Management

This workshop will dissect the perspectives (and underlying basis) of the collaboration necessary between legal, IT, records and risk management personnel as they try to manage electronically stored information, particularly e-mail. While the discussion will focus on enabling technologies, emphasis will also be placed on the roles that policies, procedures, training and education play in reducing the risks inherent with mis-managing e-mail. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of collaborative methods of e-mail compliance in an integrated information risk management strategy.

Learning objectives:

  1. Understanding the collaboration necessary between legal, IT, RIM and risk management w.r.t. e-mail
  2. Knowledge of the different techniques and technologies involved in e-mail preservation
  3. Managing e-mail with an eye towards compliance and evidence management
